  • Sox split

    Nathan Price|Apr 22, 2024

Despite a close defeat to Carrington on Monday, April 15, the Sheyenne-New Rockford Black Sox have gotten off to a hot start this season. Going into Monday's game, the Sox had won four straight to start their season and were looking to keep their good fortunes going. Unfortunately for them, however, the Cardinals had other ideas. After more than an hour's rain delay, the Cards did most of their damage in the first inning, as several defensive errors allowed a pair of unearned runs to cross home...

  • Card-tastrophe

    Erik Gjovik|Apr 22, 2024

Even with a momentary bout of freezing rain that hit the City Park complex on Thursday, April 11, the Carrington softball team managed to get in a game with the Thompson Tommies. The visitors are a returning Class B tournament qualifier from last spring, and served notice that they should be in the conversation once again with a 20-3 win over the Cards. Thompson rapped out 19 hits in the victory. Sydney Schwabe had three hits from the leadoff spot, and Kya Hurst and Cindy Eliason each scored...

The Sheyenne-New Rockford Black Sox got off to a great start this season with an impressive comeback win against the Polar Bears in Larimore on Thursday, April 4. The Sox were the first team on the board after a single by Thomas Allmaras, who was later brought home by a 2-out RBI single from Brody Weisenburger in the top of the first inning. The Polar Bears didn't respond immediately, but they'd soon take a strong lead. After scoring their first run in the bottom of the third, they followed that...

Spring baseball season has finally arrived, and the Sheyenne-New Rockford Black Sox are gearing up for a promising season. What makes this season promising, you ask? In previous years, the local baseball diamonds were smothered in snow to start the season, but this year the Black Sox were able to get outside and practice on the field. Head coach Dave Skogen and his team were out...
