    On Tuesday, May 16, New Rockford-Sheyenne golfers traveled to Mapleton for their first individual state qualifier. Not all would go to plan for the Rockets, however. The team's best golfer, Jackson Schumacher, didn't have the greatest front nine as he scored 14 over par. The difficult start meant that his much-improved back nine result – three over par – wasn't quite enough to qualify for state. Schumacher finished the meet with an overall score of 89.     On Monday, May 16 the New Rockford-Sheyenne track and field team traveled to Rugby, again, to compete in the annual Panther Booster meet. With minimal meets left before state, the Rockets have been pushing to add state-qualifications to the list. At this meet, the Rockets successfully added two more state-qualifications, specifically in the long jump event. NR-S junior, Kelsie Belquist, and NR-S sophomore, Porter Granger, were the two athletes to earn state-qualifications in the long jump...

    On Tuesday, May 16, the New Rockford-Sheyenne junior high track and field team made the 47 mile trek to Devils Lake to compete in the final junior high meet of the season. NR-S eighth grader, Malaki Kukowski, was quite successful at the meet. In the eighth grade boys' division, Kukowski took first place in the 100-meter dash, the 200-meter dash and long jump.     The New Rockford-Sheyenne track and field team made their final trek to Rugby on Friday, May 19 to compete at the North Central Region meet. This was the last meet that athletes could qualify for the Class B State Track Meet on May 25-27, with either state-qualifying times and/or distances or placing in the top three for any event.
