    The New Rockford-Sheyenne track and field team traveled to Oakes on Monday, May 2, to attempt to secure state-qualifications at the Starion Track & Field Complex. Among the 24 Rockets athletes to compete, two received state-qualifications. Those athletes were NR-S senior, Kaden Jensen, and NR-S sophomore, Kelsie Belquist.   • Rockets get warm-up at Belcourt Indoor

    The Rockets’ track team traveled to Belcourt on Thursday, April 28 to compete in the Turtle Mountain Invite. Although this meet didn’t count towards state-qualifying, this was more of a “glorified” practice. The Rockets still competed with all their might, and some were even able to bring home some first place finishes. The Rockets’ took first place in four track and field events.     On April 20, 2022, the 4-H shooting club had their meeting. Our first order of business was to remind everyone to finish their T-shirt orders and hand them in. Next, club leader Michael Brazil informed the group that the Eagles Club had made a $5,000 donation to purchase supplies for club events.   • Flood Emergency declared in Eddy County

    Overland flooding in eastern Eddy County has led county commissioners to sign a Flood Emergency Declaration. Commissioners met with Eddy County Emergency Manager, Lisa Thompson, on Monday, May 9, for a special meeting to discuss the situation. Thompson reported that she'd toured Columbia, Cherry Lake, Lake Washington and Tiffany Townships that morning to survey the flooding and to speak with residents.
