    The 2021 New Rockford Classic took place in the New Rockford-Sheyenne Gymnasium this past Sunday. A total of 19 teams in grades five through seven competed in the tournament. The New Rockford-Sheyenne Rockets boys team started the tournament off against the Belcourt Elite team. The Rockets defeated the Belcourt Elite 26-12.     The New Rockford-Sheyenne Rockets youth girls and boys teams competed in the Valley City Recreation and Park District 33rd Annual Spring Shootout on Saturday, March 27. There were eight total teams in the eighth grade boys division and six total teams in the eighth grade girls division. The Rocket boys started off the day by playing the Casselton Squirrels.     Carrington Pitcrew had wrestlers compete in state duals, girls state, and state individuals for folkstyle wrestling tournaments on March 26 and 27. The small group dual team, with wrestlers in pre-k through sixth grade, went 2-2 overall. They started the day against Sundawg Wrestling with a win of 39-18, followed by a 18-39 loss to Beach.     The New Rockford-Sheyenne Music Department held its first in-person concert since the pandemic hit one year ago. On Monday, March 29, the fifth grade band students performed a short concert for the public.
