    The New Rockford Park District's ice rink is finally open for skating. The rink's first day was Wednesday, Jan. 11, and Dennis Nybo, park district director, couldn't have been happier to see it full of kids and local residents all day long.   • Snow emergencies declared in Eddy County, City of New Rockford

    As of Tuesday, Jan. 10, snow emergency declarations had been issued by both the City of New Rockford and Eddy County. Eddy County Commissioners held a special meeting on Thursday, Jan. 6, where the commission unanimously carried a motion to declare the snow emergency. The Eddy County declaration states, in part, "repeated snow and repeated back-to-back multi-day blizzards have occurred in Eddy County causing a huge burden on Townships, Cities and County road departments."     The New Rockford-Sheyenne School Board spent much of their monthly meeting last Monday considering a professional fundraising firm to raise money for the second gym project. The price tag for the project, while fluid, has ballooned since the gym was first considered.
