Sheyenne GRIT held a board meeting October 14 at the Senior Center and via Zoom. Board members Patti Larson, Darci Joseph, Laurie Westby, Tara Hanson and Joanna Larson conducted business related to the nearly complete renovation of the home at 337 Sheyenne Avenue. After the meeting, board members took a group photo as part of the dedication of a newly-planted maple tree in the yard. The non-profit group, Sheyenne GRIT, reports their project house at 337 Sheyenne Avenue is almost ready for a new family. Since July, local contractors and many “gritty” volunteers have completed tree removal, landscaping, painting, siding work and other interior restorations. Last week, Patti Clifton did errands in Carrington and New Rockford. The Central North Dakota Steam Threshers Reunion tractor trek pulled into Sheyenne about noon hour on Thursday, Sept. 14. Sheyenne GRIT met on Sunday, Aug. 20, at First Lutheran Parish Hall. The evening started with a BBQ and chips supper. Discussion was then held on the house flip project – what has been completed and what is left to be done. A target of October has been set for the house to be put up for sale. Last Thursday, Jan Loe and Patti Clifton enjoyed supper at Old 281 Tavern in Minnewaukan. Jeff and Denise Labrensz traveled to Mobridge, S.D. last Thursday evening. On Friday, they drove Jeff's mom, Ramona, to Aberdeen, S.D. to see her new great-granddaughter, Vivian Pfeiffer. Matt and Allison Pfeiffer and family were camping at Storybook Land in Aberdeen.
